• Mr. Reid was born and raised in Sanilac County   and is a 5th generation County resident.
• Mr. Reid graduated from Sandusky High School in 1977.
• BA degree in History/Political Science Prelaw from Michigan State University in 1981.
• JD degree from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1984.
• While still attending law school Mr. Reid was employed by the Toledo Public Defender's Office where he served the indigent public in criminal defense litigation.
• Mr. Reid was employed by the law firm of Paterson & Paterson from 1984 through 1989.  While employed with this law firm Mr. Reid gained substantial courtroom experience in litigation, personal injury lawsuits, contracts, land disputes, criminal defense and family law matters. 
• In 1989 Mr. Reid left this employment and started his own general law practice in Sanilac County concentrating his practice in the areas of criminal defense, divorce, child neglect and related family law matters, general civil litigation, land disputes, landlord-tenant matters, and contracts.
• Mr. Reid has over 22 years of civil and criminal litigation experience throughout the State of Michigan.  Courtroom experience that matters.
• Mr. Reid is the author of the following published legal manuals on Michigan law:

                    "FARM LEASES"

• Mr. Reid is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and a proud life member of the National Rifle Association.
• Mr. Reid has been a business and property owner in Sanilac County since 1989 and a life resident for 49 years.

CANDIDATES BELIEFS AND OPINIONS 

• "I believe the District Court is the most important Court we have in the State of Michigan. This Court serves important public needs, whether civil or ciminal.  It is the Court the general public is most likely to come in contact with to resolve their disputes."
• "The District Court Judge must be absoutely fair and impartial to all that appear before him or her, without regard to the wealth, position or authority of the person."
• "The United States Constitution and Bill of Rights guarantee to every citizen certain rights and protections from overzealous government interference.  It is my belief that unbiased enforcement of these rights is essential to the proper function of a free society, otherwise they become nothing more than meaningless words on a piece of paper."
• "I believe it is the absolute duty of the District Court Judge to give life to these words and fairly enforce these rights and protections for all citizens."
• "I believe justice requires full, complete and timely disclosure to the accused of all evidence gathered against them by law enforcement during a criminal investigation whether used by the Prosecution."
